Taking A Break

Lovely friends,

I just wanted to write a quick note to let you all know that I’m going to be taking a break from the internet for the next couple of weeks. As I alluded to a few posts ago, I’ve been struggling a bit recently with various things and – in order to head things off and get myself centred again – I’ve decided that I need to take a bit of time. So I’m off on a retreat where I can switch off for a bit and do a bit of mental spring cleaning!

I’ll see you all back here in a couple of weeks when normal service resumes. In the meantime, enjoy what’s left of February!

A break from the internet can be a fabulous thing. It’s a great tool in many ways – I love the way it allows me to connect to sewers and knitters all over the world – but it can also be lovely to shut it down for a while and enjoy other interactions.

You’re totally right! I do it periodically – just turning off my phone and taking some time away. I’ve had all social media notifications turned off for a while but the compulsion to check and update can still be there. Sometimes it’s good to create boundaries for yourself by taking a concrete amount of time off and committing to staying totally away from the internet. I’ve definitely appreciated the time to reset!

Thanks, Emily! I had a wonderful break. It was totally recuperative and I definitely needed it. But I’m ready to get back to things now. The Ginger Jeans are calling me!! I hope everything is great with you ❤

That’s so awesome to hear!! I’m so glad you were able to get away from things for a bit and recharge your batteries, we all need that sometimes and recognizing it – and then doing it – is so important and it really is a wonderful gift of self love.

I can’t wait to see your Ginger jeans!!
